21 Oct

The end of October is a Great Time for Events. If you’ve been keeping up with the news on this blog you would have noticed we have posted details on Tech Days 2010 and GoDevMental. A few more events are coming up and it’s been a bit overwhelming trying to keep up with it.

If you’re interested in the Cloud Computing and would like to get an a good idea of what Cloud Providers there are out there (I’d suggest Windows Azure) and how people are Architecting their Cloud Applications, Cloud Camp Toronto is the place for you.

CloudCamp is an unconference where early adopters of Cloud Computing technologies exchange ideas. With the rapid change occurring in the industry, we need a place where we can meet to share our experiences, challenges and solutions. At CloudCamp, you are encouraged to share your thoughts in several open discussions, as we strive for the advancement of Cloud Computing. End users, IT professionals and vendors are all encouraged to participate.

Microsoft PDC

Microsoft PDC is under way October 28th & 29th at Microsoft Head Quarters (Redmond, Washington), but be sure to Stream the Event Online or attend one of the local PDC Events. Tune in to find out more about Windows Azure, Windows Phone 7 (Silverlight & XNA).

Guelph Coffee and Code: Week of Sept. 26, 2010

27 Sep

MSCERT-70536 Last week was the first discussion and code review period for the Study Group, and I am quite impressed with the results. We had a new member last week, which was a great surprise, I look forward to continuing through on our accelerated timeline.

This week we have been learning Services, Threading, Configuration, and Diagnostics. You can learn more about our progress on the Forum.

Our next meeting which takes place on September 30th we will be having a discussion on the topics listed above, feel free to join our conversation even if you aren’t part of the group. The more questions we have leads to a better discussion, and a better understanding of the topics that were covered.
