23 Jun

Sorry

After a wild 4 weeks around North America, I have returned. I would like to thank those of you that have continued to come out in my absence with an Extra Special thanks to John Rockefeller for taking care of the invites while I was away.

Getting back into the Groove

I’m sure lots of things have been happening so I look forward to coming back in and catching up with the Group. Hopefully the group hasn’t lost hope on the OpenGuelph Open Data Project. I look forward to see progress if any, or at least digging back into some code.

GovCamp Toronto

Last week I went to attend GovCamp in Toronto, it was great to see so many people passionate about OpenData and a supporting Open Government Data. A number of OpenData applications were demoed at the event including VanGuide, Doors Open Toronto, and Data Literacy.

Future Events

I’d like to run an OpenData Camp for a future event. I’m looking to invite Karen Farbridge, the Mayor of The City of Guelph, and any additional Staff that are working on the Open Data Initiative.  I will be sure to advertise this event far in advance so we can have all hands on deck!
