Know Anything About HTML5?

25 Apr

Then we want to meet you!

Come to the next Guelph Coffee and Code meetup at Coco Latte in the Old Quebec St. Mall in downtown Guelph at 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, April 29th to get together with other developers and designers in the area.

HTML5 is an up-and-coming technology shift for the web and we would love to hear your experiences working with it and opinions on the upcoming changes.

This will be the second meetup that uses the new 5:00-6:00 dedicated code and chat time, followed by the optional socializing time until 8:00pm. We’ve made these changes as some members have expressed difficulty with the combination of getting some code completed while also schmoozing.

Hope to see you there!

Things are Brewing…

Last week a number of Guelph Coffee and Code members attended DemoCamp Guelph. After noticing the number of demo decline from previous events, I talked to Brydon at the event to see if Guelph Coffee and Code could help. A number of our members have been on the Stage to demo including Tony Thompson, John Rockefeller and Cory Fowler.  If you would like to take the plunge and Demo at a future DemoCamp and don’t know where to start, come join us for advise!  We will be running a Demo Prep Camp at a future event to try to get more technologists excited and prepared to demo.

Guelph Coffee and Code: April 15

14 Apr

Welcome Technology Community members, I apologize for the delay in this weeks post.

Please Note: the Time and Location change in this weeks event.

To appeal to the technology hub in Downtown Guelph this weeks event will begin shortly after the work day ends. We hope that this will attract some people that have been meaning to come out, but haven’t gotten the chance to make it to an event.

To reiterate, Guelph Coffee and Code is a very relaxed environment in which you can show up when you please, and leave when you wish.  We enjoy the flexibility of this model as we like to encourage community building through networking, but also try to promote the ability to work on projects [Community based, or Personal]. We are also a great resource of help, just incase you are stuck on some code.

This week come out to work or relax with some like minded individuals. Cory is hoping to show off some of the Open Data Applications and Feeds that he has come across. If you want to gather some resources on Open Data check out the Focused twitter account @OpenGuelph.Drawing of Downtown Guelph

Without further ado….

Venue: Coco Latte
Address: 55 Wyndham Street N. Guelph, Ontario
